Doc

We all know that we should take better care of ourselves, actively manage our stress, get more exercise, and eat healthy. And yet, change is so hard. Dr. Bob Wertkin approaches self-care from a fresh and unique perspective.

Dr. Wertkin is a professor in the School of Social Work at Western Michigan University. Now in his 36th year at WMU, he has been the director of Social Work and Physician Assistant and founded the School of Interdisciplinary Health Programs. He also chaired the Millennial Project and the WMU Committee on Civility. His practice background is in child welfare, mental health, and juvenile justice. His MSW is from Kansas and doctorate from Utah.

Learning Objectives

Explore the important role of brain rewiring, negative bias, interpersonal neurology, and resiliency in self-care.

Provide simple and practical ways to incorporate these concepts in our work and personal life.
