Formal Management ReferralOne of the most difficult problems facing management today is dealing with an employee/associate whose performance has fallen below expectations. When an organization has a troubled employee/associate, HelpNet Employee Assistance Program is an important resource that can help you improve the situation. Formal Management Referrals (FMRs) are an additional resource available to the organization to motivate troubled employees/associates to seek and accept professional assistance. Any employee/associate presenting a documented decline in work performance, or an on-the-job incident, may be referred to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) by the employee/associate's immediate Manager or Department Director in collaboration with Human Resources. The FMR is usually considered to be a one-time appointment. However, the employee/associate may choose to continue HelpNet services on a voluntary basis, utilizing their EAP benefit. When a FMR is made to the EAP and the employee/associate has signed an appropriate consent to release information, Human Resources will receive feedback from the HelpNet Case Manager on the employee/associate's attendance status.
